Not the Reverends of Funk

Now presenting a special Sweet Baby Lou segment, Sea Shanties! In order to prepare for our musical voyage with special guests A Wrench in the Spokes, to sea we did some extensive research into the ancient art of shanty-ing. A shanty, according to dictionary.com is described as “a sailors’ song, esp. one sung in rhythm to work.”

Thus we set out on the world wide web in search of the best authentic shanties sung by pirates and merchants alike while rolling over the cresting waves of the ocean blue. And here our the fruits of our labor.
